Dining Chairs

Dining chairs take more daily abuse than almost any other seat in the house, so ours are chosen to look good and hold up. The collection leans into mid-century modern icons — Eames-style molded shell chairs with wood or wire bases — alongside upholstered dining chairs, wishbone and spindle designs in solid wood, and fully upholstered host chairs for the ends of the table.

Comfort is mostly math: aim for about 10 to 12 inches between the seat and the tabletop, and roughly 24 inches of table width per chair. Molded shell chairs wipe clean in seconds, making them a favorite for families; upholstered seats trade a little maintenance for a lot of comfort on long dinner parties. Most of our dining chairs are sold in sets of two, four, or six — mixing two upholstered host chairs with simpler side chairs is a classic designer move.

Stackable and armless designs tuck neatly under the table in tight spaces. Every order ships free, so outfitting the whole table costs less per seat than you’d guess.
